i liked this game. it was a neat fusion of two distant genres. the racing sections were fun and looked awesome. but they could use some more sound design; they were eerily quiet.
i was mixed on the visual novel parts. silent dialogue, no log page, escape is fast forward, characters flashing on and off screen too much; a bunch of small problems that accumulated and made the vn part feel unpolished. but they're pretty minor oversights that could be easily fixed in whatever game comes after nirvana pilot yume. that said, the actual content of the vn was very good and it really looked the 80s part.

Skyroads Game
Rating: 4Neat flying/driving/jumping/3D game. As you can tell, it's hard to describe. Basically it's a 3D 'racing' game, but you're not really racing, just trying to make it to the end of the course. It's a bit weird (and can be a bit annoying at times) but it's still neat. Nice VGA pre-fancy-3D-card graphics. The full version of this game has been released as freeware, so you get ALL the tracks! Cool! (Someone has made an open source Javascript version of the game which you can see here: OpenRoadsGame. Incredibly, it claims to have Oculus Rift support! Since I don't own one, I can't verify that.)
